The Creation of perfect leather:

The availability of raw materials and the production plays a vital role in choice of technology. Hides and skins are made in such a way that it cannot be conserved for a long period of time unless preservatives are used. Bacteria begin working on hides and skinsjust after slaughter of animal. Preservatives slow down the process of degeneration. The degeneration work on hides and skinsis known as putrefaction wheretanning is the process of conversion of collagen fiber by treating the hides and skins with tanning. Tanning may be of vegetable origin or mineral origin, common vegetable tanning where common mineral tanning is chrome powder.

Chrome tanned leather is called wet blue for its characteristics color. The tanning technology may broadly be defined into three prominent activity phases:

Activity 1:       Storage of raw hides and skin Pickling: to prepare the goods for actual tanning operation. Activity 2:        Tanning Hides and skins are covered into leather which resists putrefactions indefinitely. Activity 3:        Impartation of other desired effects on already tanned leather such as graining, samming and onward.
